Dr. McDermott grew up an hour north of Toronto, Ontario, and loves hockey! He knew he wanted to be a chiropractor from the age of 16, and focused on that goal to make his dream a reality. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo in 1994. From there he went to Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Missouri and graduated in December 1997. Moving to Vermont immediately after graduation he started practicing in February 1998 with Dr. Arthur Pistey in Norwich , VT, and then took a position to cover for an injured colleague, Dr. Tom Turek, in St. Johnsbury, VT. After gaining enough clinical experience and business knowledge, he started his own practice in White River Junction, VT from late 1999 until 2007. In late 2006 he and Dr. Trevor Gilbert covered for an ailing Dr. Jeff Levy and soon after they purchased the Randolph office from Dr. Levy, who unfortunately passed in February 2007. Now joined with Fostering Wellness he looks forward to working with a team of chiropractors and staff that puts wellness first.

Clinical interests include orthopedics, orthotics, exercise, case management and coordination of care. You will find that Dr. McDermott is a very caring and thorough doctor who takes the time to do the right thing for his patients ensuring they have a comprehensive approach to address their clinical needs, not solely their chiropractic issues.
